◾️Commenced operations as Tokyu Kogyo Corporation Yokohama Works, focusing mainly on the restoration of Tokyu Corporation’s war-damaged trains at the former site of navy yard.
1948
◾️Established Tokyu Yokohama Plant Co., Ltd. (Capital 25 million Yen).
1949
◾️Received the order from Japan National Railway (JNR) to manufacture the Shonan Train and freight cars and established its position as a major rolling stock manufacturer.
1953
◾️Changed the company name to Tokyu Car Corporation.
1958
◾️Completed the first Japanese semi-stainless steel train (Tokyu Corporation type 5200)
1962
◾️Completed the first Japanese (All) stainless steel train (Tokyu Corporation type 7000)
1966
◾️Completed the first export stainless steel train (Taiwan Railways Administration type DR2700)
◾️Designated as the manufacture of Shinkansen by JNR (present JR).
1968
◾️Consolidated Teikoku Car and Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and designated it as Osaka Plant. Established the production and sales framework for rolling stock and specialty vehicles in both eastern and western Japan.
1988
◾️Achieved the production of 2,000 cars for all stainless steel carbody.
1997
◾️Registered the ISO9001 certification in railway division.
2003
◾️Completed the construction of Wakayama plant (Closed down the Osaka Plant).
2007
◾️Completed the world’s first diesel hybrid train (East Japanese Railway company type kihaE200)
2012
◾️Established Japan Transport Engineering Company as a wholly subsidiary of East Japan Railway Company (Capital 100 million Yen. President Mr. Naoto Miyashita). Took over the rolling stock manufacturing business from Tokyu Car Corporation.
◾️Certified Tokyu Corporation Series 5200 and Series 7000 as Mechanical Engineering Heritage by the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers. (Permanent Preservation at Yokohama Plant)
◾️Introduced ”sustina” as a commercial brand name of stainless steel railcars built by J-TREC
◾️Received an order for Series E7 Shinkansen from East Japan Railway Company.
2013
◾️Completed Car No.5576 Tokyu Corporation Series 5050 as the first sustina for domestic market.
◾️Signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Alstom for the business cooperation in Japanese Light Rail Transit System.
2014
◾️Completed Series EV-E301 Battery Hybrid Vehicle for East Japan Railway Karasuyama line as the second sustina for domestic market.
◾️Completed the business integration with East Japan Railway Company Niitsu Rolling Stock Plant and designated it as J-TREC Niitsu Plant.
2015
◾️Completed the first mass production type of “sustina” for Metropolitan area (East Japan Railway Company type E235).
◾️The first exported sustina train for the Bangkok Purple Line in Thailand is completed.

◾️Completed East Japan Railway, Type E001 “TRAIN SUITE SHIKI-SHIMA”.
